This is the 5th year that the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA) has teamed up with the Tyler Frederes Memorial Fund to raise money for youth players in our USA Hockey Affiliate (IA, KS, NE & the Greater Kansas City area).
Below is an invitation from the Frederes Family asking you to join us and help deserving hockey players win an award for financial assistance.
New this year … if an association sends one or more players to the golf tournament that will make up to five youth hockey players eligible for a financial award.
Also new this year, send a team of 4 players and compete against the other Hockey Associations that send a team, each golfer on the winning team gets a $100 gift certificate, teams will be handicapped.
Please join us and if your association signs up a team, advise Les Teplicky regarding your team name so we can put you in the competition, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions you can send them to Les.
Join in and help deserving players win an award.
Thank you, MWAHA
Invitation from Debby and Mick Frederes
We are fast approaching the 5th Annual Tyler Frederes Memorial Golf Tournament, scheduled for Monday, August 6 at the Deuce at the National in Kansas City. And, we are excited! This tournament is so special to the family and a highlight in our year. We are happy to have given over 50 Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA) players $38,000, and we will be presenting MWAHA the LARGEST CHECK YET! The check presentation will help players in the 2018-19 season. If you have a player who needs assistance, join us in the tournament or direct your players to the player assistance application: http://tylerfrederes.org/assistance-application Teams in the tournament will have guaranteed scholarships.
The tournament brings together over 250 family, friends, teammates, classmates and coaches. It’s a well-run tournament with a variety of key family members who include a golf pro, marketing and development executive, sales executive, and event planners as well as eager family and friends who want to make a difference. We have two new sponsors this year who are providing some amazing support.
Gail Worth of Gail’s Harley-Davidson is providing the first ever tournament Harley Hole-In-One. We always have fun games and contests, but we are thrilled to offer a chance to win a Harley-Davidson. Gail has been a longtime friend of the family, and we are so appreciative of her generosity! Stay tuned for details. Feel the Power!
We are also partnering with Kendra Scott. Friends, this is THE trendy, statement jewelry for women. Kendra Scott is designing a special pendant necklace called “Tyler,” in blue, his favorite color. The pendant necklace will be available at the tournament for purchase. It will be sold for two days ONLY – August 6 and 7 at the boutique at Town Center Crossing in Leawood, KS or you can call the store to order. Kendra Scott has also donated to the silent auction! This is an easy way to support the tournament and wear or gift the Tyler pendant. We will be sharing more details on social media. Be sure to follow us on Facebook at TylerFrederesMemorial.
GOLF INFO! Cost is $150 per player and includes men’s GenTeal Performance Polo and women’s polo shirt with tournament logo, green fees, lunch, practice range, and golf cart. You can easily sign up online to play at TylerFrederes.org. We have a new registration format that makes sign-up super easy. CLICK HERE!

YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! It is because of so many like yourself that we can pay it forward to deserving hockey players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA). The 2014 tournament raised $10,000, the 2015 tournament raised $12,000, the 2016 tournament raised $15,000 with an additional $1000 for the yearly Chris Mentzel Scholarship. We will again be presenting a check to MWAHA prior to the tournament with OUR BIGGEST CHECK YET!
We look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 6!
