As part of our MWAHA Hockey Development plan the MWAHA Affiliate and USA Hockey are hosting a Seminar for Association Coaching Directors and coaches that are involved with Player Development at the Association level.

All hockey associations are required to have a Hockey Director. We are requesting the Association Coaching Director or someone from each association that fulfills that position to attend. We also highly encourage each association to send a second coach or association player development person. The seminar is limited to 2 attendees per association.

A primary part of the seminar will be an on-ice session presented by USA Hockey regarding the latest in Dynamic skating. Other topics will include the role of a Coaching Director, challenges to player development and association culture.

When – Saturday 22 June starting at 9:00 AM concluding at 3:30 PM, allowing attendees to either travel in on Friday evening or Saturday morning.  Coffee, juice and pastries will be available at 8:30 and lunch will also be provided. There is no charge for the seminar.

This is the same day that the MWAHA is holding their Annual Board meeting that may allow attendees to car pool with their fellow association members that will be attending the MWAHA
Board meeting.

Where – West Des Moines MidAmerican Energy Rec Plex, 6500 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA.

In addition to the latest in skating this is a great opportunity to visit with like-minded hockey people about their activities and what others are doing regarding player development.

Attendees need to bring their skates, stick, helmet, gloves and any other protective gear for an on-ice session.
