The inaugural season for Team Midwest concluded earlier this week with the 12u Major team crowned champs and the 12u Minor team making it to the semifinals of one of the larger AAA hockey tournaments in the region. The teams were coached by Christian Graham (12u Major) and JS Dickson (12u Minor) and were comprised of Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (“MWAHA”) players from Ames, Des Moines, Fremont, Kansas City, Omaha, Quad Cities and Sioux City.

This was the first year MWAHA fielded teams of top players among the Associations to compete against other AAA programs. During the pre and post winter season, each team practiced over 20 hours together and played over 15 games against top teams such as Chicago Fury AAA, Madison Capital AAA, Windy City AAA, Carshield AAA, and the St Louis Blues AAA.

MWAHA is pleased to announce the continuation of Team Midwest for the 12u Major (2012 birth year) and 12u Minor (2013 birth year) age divisions for the 2024 season. We are also excited to announce that both Mr. Graham and Mr. Dickson will be coaching the teams again this year.
