The Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (“MWAHA”) is pleased to announce the continuation of Team Midwest for the 12u Major (2012 birth year) and 12u Minor (2013 birth year) age divisions. In parts of the country some USA Hockey programs have AAA teams at the youth level that travel extensively. This is a major time and financial commitment for parents and players at these ages. Our belief within the MWAHA is that it is a priority for younger players to have fun with their friends by continuing to play hockey for their home Association. However, at the same time we would like to offer a pathway for top MWAHA players to have a higher‐level competitive experience against AAA teams while still playing for their home Association team during the winter season.

This will be the 2nd year that MWAHA has fielded teams of top players among the 18 Associations to compete against other USA Hockey AAA programs. Last year, Team Midwest competed against the Chicago Fury AAA, Madison Capital AAA, Windy City AAA, Carshield AAA, and the St Louis Blues AAA programs. The teams were coached by Christian Graham and JS Dickson, both of whom played high-level hockey (pro or D1 college) and have extensive experience coaching and developing youth hockey players. We are also excited to announce that both Mr. Graham and Mr. Dickson will be coaching the teams again this year.

Open Tryout 1: Sunday June 2, 2024 at RecPlex in West Des Moines, Iowa ($45.00)

Open Tryout 2: Friday June 7, 2024 at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska ($45.00)
