Try Hockey for Free March 1, 2014 Article

On Saturday, March 1, local youth hockey  associations across the country invited boys and girls ages four to nine years old to their local rinks for a Try Hockey for Free clinic to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.

The event was USA Hockey’s most successful event to date.  Over 15,800 children at close to 500 locations across the country were introduced to the sport.  In the Midwest Affiliate we had 517 children in 13 locations that experienced hockey for the first time!  The participating associations and the number of participants at events in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas are as follows:
